Corrigan, Brinklee

From a young age, my dream has always been to be an elementary teacher. My heart has always been drawn to the elementary level. I believe it is due to my own fractured childhood that I feel elementary is where I can make the biggest impact. As an elementary teacher, I would strive to let my students know that they matter, they have a purpose, and they can be successful no matter their background or struggles they may encounter. So many times school is a child’s safe place, the place where they feel comfort and, for many, love. I want to create that type of learning environment for my students; I want them to not only learn their lessons but to experience acceptance.

Your dreams will have a great impact on kids. It is important for them to have a good life, despite coming from a bad background.
