I feel as if I have fallen into Orgons shoes a few times in my life. In the play, Orgon was an idiot that Tartuffe could easily manipulate. Many people in life are idiots, and they will want to guide you. They are idiots, therefore following their advice will get you in trouble. The first element in Tartuffe's power over Orgon is his obsessive devotion. He believed the myth that Tartuffe was a religious person who claimed to be a dedicated follower. In life you cannot trust anyone. People will be so quick to trick and fool you in order to get what they want.
