Elmire can be described as a caring, kind hearted woman. She loves her stepchildren and takes an interest in them. She would do anything to help her stepchildren, no matter the risk. An example would be, when Orgon forces his child Mariane to marry Tartuffe. Elmire comes to save her step daughter. Elmire makes use of Tartuffe's fascination in her because she is aware of his attraction to her. She manipulates Tartuffe and exposes his crooked ways to Orgon. She is a brave and honorable woman who will stop at nothing to save Orgon and his family from controversy. Elmire is a kind, considerate woman who would risk her life to keep her family safe.
